Who am I

Kerrod is a contemporary movement artist and multidisciplinary practitioner based in Brisbane. He graduated with Distinction from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance).

As a performer, Kerrod has worked with leading companies and choreographers across Australia. His credits include Colossus with Stephanie Lake Company (2024), Opera Australia’s premiere of The Ring Cycle (2023), and Leviathan with Circa Contemporary Circus (2020). He has also collaborated with choreographers such as Stephanie Lake and Akasia Ruthy.

Kerrod’s artistic practice spans performance, choreography, and collaboration. He is interested in creating high-energy, audience-engaging works that explore rhythm, embodiment, and community connection. Most recently, he has been developing new work that bridges contemporary dance with the energy of rave culture, such as his upcoming duet Doppelklang (Backbone, 2025).

Whether choreographing, performing, or simply generating ideas, Kerrod strives to offer fresh perspectives to contemporary society. He thrives on the possibilities of contemporary dance, pushing the boundaries of physicality, weaving intricate movement vocabularies, and amplifying the expressive potential of the body. For Kerrod, the freedom of contemporary practice lies not only in the dancer’s experience, but in how choreographers and audiences alike are invited into the work.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Kerrod continues to expand his creative practice across visual art, drama, technology, photography, and circus. His work embraces experimentation, innovation, and the ongoing pursuit of connection through art.
