New Rust
New Rust showcases the depths and intricacies of relationships. The characters portray these cultural relationship ideologies by exhausting possibilities of pedestrian greetings, being the catalyst of choreography creation. During the real-world façade of such a relationship, non-verbal cues makes up a majority of communication in developing, maintaining and portraying thoughts and emotions. With circus and contemporary dance at the forefront of the improvisations, the extremities of non-verbal movements can be completely indulged to detail a very specific story. The oxymoronic title foreshadows following the same pattern of assumed trust and uncertainty, to ambivalence, to potential unappreciation after getting close enough with the opposition. Rust will develop with time, external environmental factors and a connection between two otherwise neutral components. Much like relationships, these factors start to affect an object, yet specific cultural constructs determine whether this is delicate and decorative or detrimental and decaying.
